Luck ran out of a notorious facebook blogger Mr Chika Nwoba who until his arrest and arraigned in court yesterday 15th April was Ebonyi State secretary of APC. Mr. Nwoba who is known for attacking eminent Nigerians was arrested in his hidout at Abakaliki by men of Nigerian police force as a result of a petition made by Hon. Chinedu, Ogah member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal constituency on the damaging report published by the accused claiming that hundreds of tricycles and motorcycles empowerment and hundreds of jobs shared to people of his constituent was stage- managed, the accused said that Hon. Ogah will go behind and retrieve the tricycles and motorcycles he added the jobs were false.
During an interview with our newsmen, Hon. Ogah said that the accused, Mr Nwoba has attacked Lagos state Governor, APC national secretary, SSG Ebonyi state, the Governor of Ebonyi state enven the country’s President, Buhari that he should be allowed to learn his lesson in jail for assassinating his charcter.

Dr. Abraham Nwali SSA to the Governor on Religious and Welfare Matters, who also double as Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN)Ebonyi State and Judicial Vicar of Catholic Church adviced christians to be reflective on the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus which is the ultimate hope of the entire body of Christ world wide, he said “as long as the world continue to exist and there is life, there will always be Easter to cerebrate, it is only the living that can cerebrate Easter. It is vatal to abide by Government directives on Coronavirus preventive measures, it is for the good of humanity”.-Guidepost News
Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Abraham Nwali, the Ebonyi state chairman Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) who also double as the SSA to the Governor on Religious and Welfare Matters admonishes christians to abide and bear with the with the Government policy on ban on public gatherings which includes churches and other preventive measures. He added that Christ is not in a particular church or religion because He is omniscient which means we can worship Him from anywhere for the time being, what matters is our personal relationship with Him. Now is not time for merriment but time for sober reflection.
He said that if the war against Coronavirus is not taken serious it can wipe the whole world because the virus and its speedy pandemic is so strong, he advice the world leaders to handle it with utmost sincerity and diligence.
The CAN chairman adviced other governors to copy Governor Umahi’s sincere fight against the virus; he made himself the chairman Exco committee on anti coronavirus and he leads the taskforce that monitors compliance, he is the first governor that build quarantine centres one in Ishielu and another one at Unity squre even before the spread got to Nigeria, he close the borders timely, placed ban on social gatherings etc.
The beauty of the whole thing is that he is not political about the war against the pandemic of coronavirus, he monitors compliance by himself with his team, visits the borders, shoping centres, markets, motor parks eatries, hotels, pharmacy just to ensure compliance, “I think he is worthy of emulation” he concludes-Guidepost News
The joint taskforce on anti-coronavirus which includes; the military, the police, the civil defence and Ebonyi state neighborhood watch led by Afikpo South local government chairman Hon. Barr. Eniduma Chima is rated highest in compliance to the state government directive; to stay at home, ban on burial, weding, church activities and other public functions. During the monitoring of sit at home by our media team, what looked like a near total shutdown was observed, there was no road block within the main road and streets, on presence of security agents that may indicate restriction of movement or intimidation, yet nobody were seen along the road or streets. The only road block was at Owutu, a boundary between Ebonyi and Abia state.
Our team interacted with a good number of people from the the area, one of whom was one Mr Chinedu Obasi who told our newsmen that “they were not; compelled or intimidated, rather, they chose on their own to abide by federal and state government preventive measures directive, though we condemn the kill of one of our youths”. He added that government should proffer them with some kind of palliatives-money and food stuff since their businesses are shutdown.
The council boss said it was not easy to control his people especially as they have common boundry with Abia state and those of them returning from Aba are like mafians, difficult to control, there was an in influx of people who came before the border closure last saturday, some of them left the city because 25 families who had fixed burial, so, after the border closure some of them resort their exit through bush with motorcyclist, the security agents has seize 68 motorcycles. The Governor of Ebonyi State Engr. David Umahi who proactively is the first governor in Nigeria to build quarantine centres for suspected cases of Coronavirus, virology centre for cases of lasafever, first in the South-East, led a team of taskforce that monitors banks, pharmacistical stores, restaurants, shopping centers, motor parks, hotels and entry points at the state boundaries to monitor compliance.
The Governor shows disatisfaction for non compliance of some public servants in carrying out preventive measures, he commends those that adhere to the directives and reprimand the defaulters and assures them that they may not be lucky the next time, that the taskforce will be close down those places and arrest the workers for non compliance.
The Governor anounce the closure of all motor parks; government and private owned parks and ban inter state movement of vehicles but said that it is only vehicles carrying food stuff that can be allowed to enter the state with effect from Saturday 28 of March 2020.
The Governor also said that all loading of buses and cars carrying pssengers within the state will henceforth take place at the stadium to enable the EXCO Committe on COVID-19 which he is the chairman to effectively monitor the movement of vehicles. The Commissioner for Internal Security and Botder Peace, Stanley Okoro Emegha flag off the painting of the commercial tricycle in Ebonyi state, he said the state colour uniformity will enable the security agencies to know when a triclycle enters the state from other state, he added that apart from colour unifirmity that each tricycle will have trackable security code numbers boldly writen on the back of the tricycle to the notice of the passengers; if they copy or can remember or report the number to a phone number that will soon be made public, then the person will be tracked through the data based code number. It is for their own good and for the good of the public.
A female tricycle rider Mrs Sarah Nkwuta told our newsmen that that they are not looking at the amount for the painting which is five thousand five hundred naira (#5,500) for each tricycle but for the security importance of the painting because before now they have been losing their tricycle to hoodlums on daily bases

Governor Umahi made the call on a live broadcast to relate the achievements of the state government on the fight against COVID19, cholera and lassa fever.
“effective from 24th of march to 14th of April 2020, there shall be no more gathering of more than 50 people, no burial ceremonies, no wake-keep, no naming ceremonies, no wedding outside religious premises, no confrences, no crusades etc”
Umahi said the state government had constructed two quarantine centres at Ebonyi-Enugu state border in Ishielu local government area of the state to monitor visitors into the state, the governor directed that all the details of passengers coming from lagos, Abuja and Edo state be fowarded to the ministry of health on daily basis to enable the medical team monitor them. The committee has carryout sensitization crusade to all the communities across the state on how to use sanitizer on their hands, they have introduced operation wash your hands with soap and water or ash and salt and to avoid handshske, a quarantine centre has been established at unity squre where suspected cases will be monitored, the symptom includes; caughing, sneezing and difficulty in breathing. The state governmet has also mounted border checks in all the entry points within Ebonyi for proper guard by trianed health workers working with security agents.

The Peace and Reconcilation Committee setup by the Governor of Ebonyi state over land dispute which erupted early this month between Ohankwu versus Amana. The committee is led by Rev. Fr. Nwali, CAN Chairman Ebonyi State who also double as SSA to the Governor on Religious and Welfare Matters who update the press on the achievement so far made by the committee.
The meeting which took place at EXCO annex Government House on 19 March 2020 The committee looked intently on dispute between Ohankwu and Amana, they looked at their findings on the land and mining site in dispute base on evidence made avsilable to them so as to determine the true onwership of the land in their quest to finding lasting solution.
The committee will meet again on Friday 20th March the Governor is desirous of speedy peaceful settlement between the two brother communities.
There were two pertinent issues to look into; the two missing people from Amaeka Ezza. The committee has mandated the Ikwo local government to interface with the stakeholders of Ohankwu to ensure that those abducted are release. The committee got some relevant phone numbers of the suspected perpetrators which they give to the commissioner for Internal Security for possible tracking. The Ikwo LG chairman promised to call for stakeholders meeting whereby the Deputy Governor will speak to them on the danger involved in keeping hostage of those abducted.
Fr. Nwali admonishes “If they do not release them, the implication is that they are expanding the war far beyond what they can handle; it will no longer be Amana versus Ohankwu but Amaeka Ezza versus Ohanku and Onikwa versus Amana and that will make the case very complex to handle. He added that in conflicts situations they should learn to manage it within the affected, not to extend it to everybody they see around”.
So far the committee has made progress; they have visited the affected communities and the land and the mining site in dispute three times, they have study the memoramda, Ohankwu have also proffer solution. Hence, the committee is preparing to submit their inerim report to the Governor who is expectant of their findings because he is desirous of lasting peace. The mammoth turnout of people from both sides is a clear indication that they are tired and now want peace.
