By Prince-Solomon Okorie – Guidepost News International

The State Commander of the Ebonyi State Internal Security and Neighbourhood Watch, Hon. Prince Victor Nwenyi, has lauded Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for prioritizing security and achieving significant breakthroughs in restoring peace across the state. “there is no development in a peace less society”, he said.

Speaking during the Governor’s two-year anniversary celebration, Hon. Nwenyi recalled that Governor Nwifuru inherited a volatile security landscape, largely destabilized by non-state actors, notably the so-called “unknown gunmen,” whose operations had crippled economic and social life in the Southeast.

“To restore peace and order, Governor Nwifuru revitalized the Ebonyi State Internal Security and Neighbourhood Watch,” Nwenyi stated. “He provided operational vehicles to all the security agencies across the state,  intelligence-gathering equipment, and extended support to federal security agencies including the police, civil defence, and the military.”

He further highlighted infrastructure improvements as part of the security strategy:
“Recognising that criminals thrive in darkness, the administration installed streetlights across major roads and communities. This not only improved security but also revived nightlife and business productivity,” he noted.

Nwenyi emphasized that Governor Nwifuru ensure that members of Ebonyi State Internal Security and Neighborhood Watch are paid duly and incentivized professionalism within the Neighbourhood Watch. He noted that members are easily identified by their uniforms and ID cards, and are under regular supervision to prevent any misuse of authority.

Beyond security, Hon. Nwenyi praised Governor Nwifuru’s achievements in other critical areas:
“His outstanding track record in just two years spans human capital development, health care, agricultural mechanization, infrastructure, educational reform, and industrial revitalization,” he said.

It is a common knowledge that the waring communities have been reconciled,  lands a boundary disputes settled

Concluding his address, Hon. Nwenyi remarked, “The reward for good work is more work. I call on all well-meaning Ebonyians to support Governor Nwifuru’s leadership of hope as we work together to build the Ebonyi of our dreams.”

Two Years Of Transformative Governance: Gov Nwifuru Earned Respect Of His Predecessors, Others…

By Prince-Solomon Okorie – Guidepost News International

Abraham Lincoln once defined democracy as “a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” This timeless quote reminds us that in a true democracy, power rests with the people—their voices, choices, and aspirations are what matter most. The true measure of any government lies in the happiness, progress, and well-being of its citizens.

In Ebonyi State, this year’s Democracy Day celebration was far from ordinary. It became a moment of reflection and recognition—one that highlighted not only the principles of democracy but also the impactful leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. Citizens and leaders alike gathered not just to celebrate democracy, but to commend the remarkable progress made under his administration.

Architectural design of the ongoing Vanco Junction tunnel and flyover, one the signature projects of Gov. Nwifuru of Ebonyi State

Governor Nwifuru has shown what it means to lead with purpose and inclusion. In just two years, he has made significant strides across key sectors—from infrastructure and education to healthcare and agriculture. His results are visible, tangible, and transformative.

Democracy is not merely a system of elections—it is a culture of service, fairness, and accountability. Under the APC-led government, Governor Nwifuru is demonstrating this daily, proving that leadership is about impact, not influence. He believes that democracy should deliver justice, inclusion, and real progress for all, every day—not just every four years.

Across Ebonyi, roads are being built, schools are being upgraded, hospitals are being revitalized, and rural communities are seeing development like never before. These are not minor projects or publicity stunts; they are strategic, long-term investments in people’s lives. Governor Nwifuru is not one to boast, because he believes Ebonyi deserves even more—and he is working tirelessly to achieve it.

This Democracy Day, the APC family in Ebonyi State proudly honored the visionary leaders who laid the foundation for today’s progress—His Excellency Sen. Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu, His Excellency Chief Martin Nwanchor Elechi, His Excellency Elder Prof Chigozie N. Ogbu, His Excellency Engr. Sen. Dr. David Nweze Umahi, Distinguished Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, High Chief Hyacinth Ikpor, High Chief Ben Okah, and others eulogizes Governor Nwifuru based on his performance in just two years in office, he has earned the respect of the people not through force or fear, but through humility, fairness, and a deep commitment to service.

The peace and unity currently enjoyed across the state speak volumes about the Governor’s visionary leadership. His policies are thoughtful and forward-looking—some already delivering results, others poised to create long-term impact. He is not just solving today’s problems; he is building tomorrow’s foundations today.

Today, power truly belongs to the people of Ebonyi. Citizens are free to speak, dream, and live with dignity. The rule of law is upheld, and everyone is equal before it. People are no longer passive spectators but active contributors to the future of their state. Leaders are held accountable, and progress is shared by all.

Ebonyi is moving forward because Governor Nwifuru has prioritized people over power and progress over pride.  Ebonyians are proud to declare: true leaders do not rule—they serve. And Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is doing just that—leading with love, humility, and a sincere heart.

Looking at the events that marked this year’s Democracy Day, it is evident that Governor Nwifuru’s achievements are not fleeting. They are thoughtful responses to real challenges—economic, social, and educational. His legacy will not be defined by headlines, but by the systems and structures he is building for future generations.

In the story of Ebonyi’s growth, Governor Nwifuru is not merely a chapter—he is laying the cornerstone of a greater future. His leadership proves that when democracy is driven by sincerity, vision, and service, it can truly transform a people and a state.

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is truly a Builder , building a Greater Ebonyi State to for the future generations.

Behind Every Successful Man, There Is a Woman: 2 Yrs of Transformative Synergy Between Gov Nwifuru & his Wife — The Ebonyi First Lady, a Model of Complementary Governance, Beacon Hope

Behind Every Successful Man, There Is A Woman: The 2 Yrs Transformative Synergy of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and First Lady Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru in Ebonyi State”
By Prince-Solomon Eddie-Johns Okorie

Two years into the administration of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Ebonyi State has witnessed a dynamic evolution rooted in the unwavering commitment to the “People’s Charter of Needs.” But beyond the governor’s solitary leadership, a powerful synergy with his wife, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, has emerged as a model of complementary governance—fusing visionary policy with compassionate outreach.

Architectural design of ongoing Vanco Junction tunnel and flyover, pet project of Gov Nwifuru of Ebonyi State

Governor Nwifuru has distinguished himself with strategic reforms and infrastructure-led transformation. From investing in education through overseas and local scholarships, increasing funding for institutions, and reducing tuition fees, to establishing landmark universities in aeronautics and ICT, the administration has demonstrated that intellectual capital is central to development.

In healthcare, the story is one of renewal and innovation. The administration has aggressively filled critical staffing gaps and retooled medical infrastructure. From equipping hospitals with modern diagnostic tools to incentivizing medical professionals with brand-new vehicles, the governor has positioned Ebonyi State as a rising model of rural healthcare revitalization.

Security and infrastructure have not been left behind. Governor Nwifuru’s multi-layered approach—empowering neighborhood watch structures, boosting conventional agencies, and illuminating communities—has reclaimed public spaces from insecurity. Over 700 kilometers of concrete roads, iconic projects like the Vanco Tunnel and Flyover, and wide-ranging water schemes have brought development closer to the people.

Economic diversification is evident in the reactivation of state-owned industries, from fertilizer and pipe production to poultry and recycling. His investment in agriculture, civil service welfare, and pension reform (clearing over ₦5 billion in arrears) proves a people-centered governance model is not just aspirational but achievable.

But the full narrative of Ebonyi’s transformation cannot be told without acknowledging the indispensable role of Her Excellency, the First Lady. Through the Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons (BERWO) Foundation, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru has become the compassionate arm of the administration.

From medical outreaches in partnership with the NNPC that provided free cataract screenings, surgeries, and eyeglasses in 15 general hospitals, to the Renewed Hope Agricultural Program that empowers rural women through agribusiness, BERWO has echoed the governor’s vision with a human touch. These initiatives have not only improved health outcomes but also stimulated local economies and created jobs.

“It is not surprising, therefore, that the First Lady of Ebonyi State, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, has been distinguished among the 36 First Ladies in the federation to bag the ‘Iconic First Lady of the Year’ award at the 2025 African Iconic Women Recognition Awards, held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.”

The First Lady’s commitment to educational reform is coming to limelight through the — Uzoamaka Nwifuru Literacy Empowerment for Educational Reform and Advancement Initiative (UNLEERAI) if implemented will marks another bold stride. UNLEERAI will tackle deficiencies in literacy improvement head-on, instilling a culture of reading and lifelong learning among young Ebonyians. This initiative will complements the governor’s educational policies and will reinforce the belief that empowered children build empowered communities and empowered future.

Together, this dynamic duo exemplifies a rare harmony in governance—a partnership where policy and empathy intersect, where vision meets action, and where the people, especially the most vulnerable, are at the heart of public service.

As Ebonyi State celebrates two years of this transformative journey, it is clear that the synergy between Governor Francis Nwifuru and First Lady Uzoamaka Nwifuru is not just a symbol of unity—it is a powerful engine of progress.

To be e a part of this life-transforming journey. Please 07033382692. We call on all lovers of education t support, and amplify the vision.
