AFRICAN LITERACY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (ALDI)

Our Mission: To promote a reading culture and improve literacy in African schools.

Our Vision: To standardize education and make Africa a literate continent.

Introduction: African Literacy Development Initiative (ALDI). Is a non-governmental organization founded to promote and inculcate a reading and writing culture across African schools. In order to improve literacy level and strengthen the decaying educational system on the continent.

Promoting a reading culture is an essential initiative for improving literacy standards and critical thinking ability among students. Incessant reading is crucial for; academic success, personal development, and career opportunities. Hence, many schools in Africa lack the orientation, resources, and support-base to nurture a reading and writing culture among students.

Overtime, we have understudied the African continental educational system since the inception of ALDI and noticed some remarkable improvements made in the past.

But in the recent times, we have also noticed reader’s apathy and sudden decline in educational activities and the inability of average African students to defend their course after graduation, a precarious situation that invalidates the certificate they obtain after years of onerous study, thereby categorizing Africa as educationally backward continent. This has propelled us to design a study guide book conceptualized to consolidate the quest for innovate and standardize education in Africa. in order to compete with the global standard of education.

This organization, through its educational reform program titled “Promoting Reading Culture in Africa” with subtitles Practical Guide to Memory Improvement and How to Improve Your Performance at School.”. This timely study guide book keenly addresses the challenges militating against readers’ apathy, which is the bane of poor performances in African schools.

To address these challenges, we have initiated this illiteracy eradication project to “Promote Reading and Writing Culture in African Schools.”

This study guide book is designed to promote and inculcate a reading culture in secondary and tertiary institutions in African schools. And to improve student’s competence, enhance their performance at schools and equip them for global success.

If students apply the principles which the Author outlined in this book, reading will become their intentional habit and knowledge will grow into understanding.

The book is intended to be distributed free of charge to secondary and tertiary institutions across the continent of Africa. And we believe that if this book is circulated across African schools, it will inevitably prepare the students for academic excellence, which is the bedrock of education. Since today’s readers are leaders of tomorrow.

This project will make meaningful impacts on the educational landscape in Africa, as often reported by affiliate media outlets across the globe.

Our Scheme of Activities:
1) To reach out to more schools and more students across Africa,
2) providing them with learning tools,
3) donating copies of study-guide books to students and to school libraries,
4) organizing seminars on the importance of reading to improve literacy,
5) setting up reading and writing competition clubs,
6) and providing reading incentives in the African schools.

These will make reading an exciting habit.

Promoting reading Culture means revolutionizing education and improving literacy in Africa, this is a true demonstration of our commitment to corporate social responsibilities.

Conclusion:
Promoting a reading culture in the African school system is a vital endeavour and a lifetime investment that requires organizations such as UNESCO, corporate bodies, Captains of Industries and government’s support and partnership.

Gospel Power International Church, Presents A Well-Thought-Out Sunday Sermon Entitled: The Wisdom Of 5-talent Man – Apst   Nwachukwu

By Prince-Solomon Eddie Okorie

Apostle Ephraim Nwachukwu, in his well-thought-out Sunday sermon, said:

“When a man lacks wisdom, he complains too much; when a man is not happy, everything is against him, and he is against everything.”

“The Bible said that oppression makes a man mad. The moment you are oppressed, you cannot think well; people will think you are foolish. That moment is momentary foolishness; you cannot think straight because you are limited by what is oppressing you at that point.”

The Man of also prayed to God to release wisdom to everyone according to their need of if it, to manifest his glory.

“Looking at the wisdom of the five-talent man, he takes a critical look at what one-talent man could not do; the five talent  invested his the five talents and came back with results.”

“Please note that minor things that matter can destroy or hinder a great man, Apostle Nwchukwu said. That is when you begin to appreciate the wisdom of a 5-talent man.”

“Let’s look at scripture and see what the one talent man did wrong. He did not understand the concept of the rich man; he failed to realize that every deity requires sacrifice. You can call God the best of names, but if you are not loyal to him, you can pray forever without results. Loyalty to God takes you to the royalty that you are looking for.”

“The wisdom of the five-talent man according to Luke 19:13, 17… Before he left, a certain man called his ten servants, gave them ten pounds of silver, and he told them to Put this money to work, another bible translation said, Do business until I return.”

Sermon delivered by Apostle Ephraim Nwachukwu, the General Overseer of Gospel Power International Church, Rumuagholu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

If You Are Poor, Know That You Are Unable To Convert Your Talent For Money—Apst. Ephraim Nwachukwu

By Prince-Solomon Eddie Okorie

Addressing the congregation in a Sunday sermon at Gospel Power International Church, Rumuagholu, the General Overseer, Apostle Ephraim Nwachukwu revealed the secrets behind the success of “five talent man and the reason behind the failure of one talent man”.

His words:

“Endeavor to monetize your time; we are simply here to trade. You trade your talent for money, meaning you have not harnessed the benefits of God’s resources inside of you. Until you know this and develop your skills for trading, trade with what you have to get what you are looking for.”

“The five talent man understand that life begins from small things; everything in this life begins from small things. Don’t feel shy when you are starting small; don’t be pressured into what you are not yet up to; if you compete with someone who is already far ahead of you, you will break down. You will grow from your smallness.”

“Kill the fear inside of you; the fear of the unknown and doubt which you have of your skills is the reason you are still where you are, but I encourage you today: never give up on yourself, he added.”

“The five talent man were able to develop one first; until you work hard on yourself to develop one, you cannot be a jack of all trades, master of none; until you master one business before you move onto another, you may not succeed. This is the secret of the five-talent man.”

Account of Stewardship“When their master returned, he demanded an account of their stewardship to know what each servant had gained… and he rewarded everyone according to their efforts. The one talent man did not invest his money; that was the reason for his failure.” Luke 12:34

“When their master returned, he demanded an account of their stewardship to know what each servant had gained… and he rewarded everyone according to their efforts. The one talent man did not invest his money; that was the reason for his failure.” Luke 12:34

“Create time to plan and endeavor to work out your plans. If there is nobody to start with you; start by yourself. Henry Kensa said, “A minute spent in planning will save you ten in execution.” Ec 9:11, Prov. 20:4, 21:5 Those too lazy to plant or plan in the right season will have no food at the harvest … Good planning and hard work leads to prosperity, but hasty and shortcuts lead to poverty. We must kill laziness before it kills us.” he concludes.

Editor’s viewpoint: This a well thought out principles which if applied would take adherers out of poverty.

Kingdom Message from Apostle Ephraim Nwachukwu, General Overseer, Gospel Power International Church, Rumuagholu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
